TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 - Review

The wedge of 2022 is the TaylorMade MG3.

It is MYGOLFSPY's most wanted wedge of 2022 and for good reason.

This wedge has received a lot of praise for its minimalistic look and the Tiger Woods moniker on some of the grinds makes it one of a kind.

GETS Golf has a look at this wedge and puts it to the test.

The Technology

  • Raw Face Technology - increased feel and spin

  • Milled Grind - better turf interaction

  • ZTP-17 Grooves - spin maximized

  • Thick-Thin Design - optimized CG

  • Raised Micro-Ribs - increased spin and improved performance

We love the natural look of the Raw face, it's easy to see why the world's best prefer it.

It delivers consistent spin through its life span and the rusting process allows for this and improved performance in wet conditions. This is one of the best wedges for spin we have ever tested. We were able to get the ball to check from inside 25 meters which is seriously impressive.

The Micro-Ribs are unique and have a rough/abrasive feel to them and TaylorMade say they allow for a better ball and face interaction. We really enjoyed and appreciated this in close shots around the green.

The finish is also welcomed as it reduced glare off the face in the sun, a big thumbs up here.

The thick-thin design is different between the lofts this helps pair the correct amount of spin to desired launch characteristics.

It is difficult to explain the feel of this club but it one of the best we have felt. We recommend testing it for yourself.

This wedge is heavy though and may affect how some people are able to control this wedge and that would affect their overall feel and spin. Not everyone is a fan of the rust face and this did leave our team divided in this regard.

  • Satin finish

  • Spin control
